The Maryland Wildkatz was founded in January of 2005. We are a non-profit 501(c)3 affiliated organization. Amateur Athletic Union or (AAU as it is more commonly known) is intended for young boys and girls of various ages to experience a level of play that they normally wouldn’t experience. AAU gives the children a chance to play in a more competitive setting than a recreational league.

The purpose of the Maryland Wildkatz is to help advance and empower youth and improve opportunities for boys and girls through athletic competition. We believe strongly in creating a basketball player instead of finding a basketball player. The program is to initiate, stimulate, and improve opportunities for amateur basketball players and to promote and develop leadership, sportsmanship, fitness, and athletic excellence. By playing with the Maryland Wildkatz children will not only learn more about the game, they will learn more about themselves as individuals.
